In the first quarter of 2024, the sandbox gaming category on iOS has seen varying performance across popular titles in Latin America. At Sensor Tower, we've compiled data to offer a glimpse into how these games are resonating with users in the region.

Roblox maintained its strong presence, with weekly revenues starting the quarter at $671K and peaking at $683K in early January before trending downwards to $466K in mid-February. However, a late March rebound brought revenues up to $651K. Downloads began at 210K in the first week of January, gradually decreasing to 120K in early March, but then spiking back up to 161K towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users reflected a similar pattern, starting strong at 2.36M, dipping to 2.2M mid-quarter, and climbing back up to 2.36M by the end of March.

Minecraft showed a consistent revenue trend, starting the quarter with $97K and ending slightly lower at $88K. Downloads stayed within the 2K to 3K range weekly, with active users starting at 354K and experiencing a slight increase to 333K by the end of Q1.

IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat experienced a fluctuating revenue trend, peaking at $6.6K in the first week of January and then dipping to $4.8K towards the end of the month. Downloads peaked at 6.6K in mid-January before falling to 3.7K in late February. Weekly active users started at 86K, with a notable peak at 106K in early February, before settling at 99K by the quarter's close.

The Sims™ FreePlay saw modest revenues, peaking at $5.8K in the first week of January and reaching a high of $6.3K by late March. Downloads saw significant fluctuations, with a high of 35K in late January, while active users had a peak of 62K in the same period before stabilizing around 47K at the quarter's end.

Lastly, Avakin Life: 3D Avatar Creator displayed a steady revenue trend, with a slight increase from the start of the quarter at $4K to $4.7K in mid-January, followed by a gradual decrease to $3.4K by late March. Downloads started at 10.5K, dropped to around 5K in late February, and then rose to 6.5K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a slight decrease from 23K to 18K throughout the quarter.
